Football Selection - Round 3 v Mangoplah CUE at Mangoplah

Coolamon Grasshoppers senior selection team of Jamie Maddox, Connor Neyland and Mitch Robinson have rewarded the same 21 players making up the side that defeated Ganmain GGM in our first game of the season last week with re-selection to take on Mangoplah CUE at Mangoplah this Saturday.

With the Goannas 0 from 2 and yet to record a win this season, the Hoppers are well aware that they'll be desperate to get their season up and running on their home deck and the boys are preparing themselves for a typically, hotly contested game on a typically cool, Mango day.

While excitement was obviously high after a first up win last week, there is no chance of complacency in the Hoppers camp.  Plenty of the senior squad are well aware of the challenge of winning at Mango and with more than 60 players fronting for Tuesday night training (see pic) and another 60 plus last night, everyone knows how hard it is to even make a playing list.

The spirit, camaraderie and work ethic in the camp is incredible at the moment and it all augers well for a good few weeks leading into the general bye.

The Magoos went down by a solitary point to the Lions last week and a few of the boys were still smarting on the track at training.  Good signs.  A fantastic 29 Ressie boys trained Tuesday night, underlining the attitude of the whole Club in the process.  Selection seeks to reward those that train and commit consistently, and co-coaches Shaun Bradley and Daniel Crocker had a long and lengthy meeting before firming up their squad.  While there has to be a few that miss out, the depth the Club has is a great reflection of where we are at and the commitment the boys have. This depth will be critical as the season moves on.

In the Thirds the young Hoppers had a great first hit out last week beating the Lions by more than 15 goals and setting the senior part of the day up perfectly at Kindra Park.  They'll be looking to repeat the effort this week against a Mango side that has dished up some hidings to us in past years.  With a few young Hoppers new to the squad the boys are still getting to know each other, but their efforts in getting to the training track and turning up for each other during last week's game is a great sign for what lies ahead and very satisfying for the coaching unit of Hayden Bradley and Max Hillier.
