Back home at Kindra Park, a welcome to Wagga Tigers in a Senior Junior double up day, and Coolamon Grasshoppers senior selection team of Jamie Maddox, Connor Neyland and Mitch Robinson have made just one change to the first grade side.
Into the Hoppers side returns Jamie Maddox after a week out with a leg strain with one to drop off an extended bench before game time pending whether anyone pulls up sore following Friday night training.
The Tigers are fresh off a bye given they played Turvey Park over the Easter weekend earlier in the season and they’ll be keen to get back into the winner’s circle following their 14 point loss to Gullie a fortnight ago. The Hoppers meanwhile, fresh off its best win over Gullie in several seasons and on the back of a massive second half last week, will be keen to continue the style of footy that has worked well this season. There will be zero complacency in the Hoppers camp. The Tigers team oozes class, speed and skills right across the park and in many ways has a game style that will match the Hoppers in every department. First use of the footy and pressure acts will be critical this week and the boys have prepared well to give the game a real shake.

The Magoos scrapped relentlessly and fought their way to a tough loss last week against Gullie and will be keen to salute this week on their home deck. If they bring the attitude and commitment they displayed in the second half at the Crossroads early to this game it should prove to be a difficult day for the Tigers. The Tigers got a real dust up in their last outing against the Demons a fortnight ago, but sit over the Hoppers on the ladder and will be keen to put some space on the Green Men. Should be a cracker.

In the Thirds the young Hoppers have a tough assignment against the ladder leading Tigers. Their attitude is great, their work ethic continues to improve and they’re learning to think their way through games with the footy. They just need to hang tough, keep persisting with their efforts and supporting each other and the close quarters will turn into wins. You can’t fake character and this mob has decent character in spades. Look for the leaders to stand up again this week and continue the build.
