Blustery day at Griffith last Saturday as we took on the Swans and while we only came away with one win for the day, there was plenty of good things to take home from the respective contests.

FOOTY
First Grade:
A game that was tightly contested for four quarters. At the 20 min mark of the third term the Hoppers led by a point, but with three quick goals in succession and on the back of a strong north westerly breeze, Griffith took a 17 point lead into three quarter time. In the final term the wind completely dropped, the contest tightened and we couldn’t bridge the final gap.

A tough day for the Hoppers where the boys contested hard but were a couple of kicks behind in every quarter. There’s a stack of improvement in this group while ever they maintain the team work and spirit they bring each week.

A massive effort from the young green men this week, with the wind howling in from the north west and no place to hide, the Hoppers refused to give up at any stage and fought out a three point win.
